Building a Garden Pond
Watch the progress of our new wildlife pond over the year.

Seven years ago we built a garden pond and I updated the links on the on the right as the pond developed. Included in the pages showing the progress of the pond are some photographs of frogspawn developing in a tank in 2002, and in the pond in 2004.

Update: This year the first spawn arrived on about 6th March. Last year it was really early, right at the beginning of march, nearly a full week before the previous earliest the year before. But it's still earlier than two years ago and much earlier than the mid march that we were getting when the pond was first filled. I would have thought that it was still too cold for them with sharp frosts every morning but they were out there croaking away at dawn.
